This programme, implemented by UNOPS in cooperation with the Ministry, will improve conditions for education, cultural activities and tourism, and will also contribute to a more favourable business environment for new investments and employment.
State Secretary at the Ministry Mira Radenović Bojić emphasised that joint work has improved conditions for education, social protection, culture, sports and more efficient provision of public services, while projects supporting business infrastructure have stimulated investments worth €235 million and created more than 2,000 jobs.
Head of the Cooperation Section at the EU Delegation to Serbia Mauro Di Veroli emphasised that EU investments in local and economic infrastructure through EU PRO Plus bring concrete benefits to communities across Serbia.
Di Veroli pointed out that these projects respond to the real needs of local communities and contribute to creating a safer, more functional and more inclusive environment, improving access to services for more than 280,000 people.
At the same time, he emphasised, investments in economic infrastructure strengthen the local business environment, attract new investments and create opportunities for employment and long-term economic growth.
Head of Programme in the UNOPS South East Europe Multi Country Office Marko Vujačić pointed out that UNOPS, with the support of the EU and in cooperation with the Ministry, has been implementing local development programmes in Serbia for more than a decade, continuously expanding the scope and impact of this support.
