State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nevena Jovanović and the Ministry’s Secretary General Dušan Kozarev discussed today in London with UK Special Envoy to the Western Balkans Karen Pearce bilateral relations between the two countries.
The interlocutors assessed that relations between Serbia and the UK are traditionally good, especially in the economic, as well as in the defence and security spheres, and additional attention was paid to a number of regional issues of mutual interest.
Jovanović and Kozarev conveyed Serbia’s full commitment to European integration and further implementation of reforms.
At the same time, they expressed concern about the human rights situation of Serbs and other non-Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija and requested British support for the full implementation of the agreements reached in the Belgrade-Priština dialogue, especially in the part relating to the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities.
Pearce emphasised official London’s support for Serbia's European integration.
While acknowledging the achieved economic results, she confirmed Great Britain’s readiness to continue active participation in processes aimed at strengthening peace, stability and reconciliation, including involvement in significant development projects in our country and in the region.
