International drug smuggling route cut off

The Serbian Ministry of Interior said today that the members of the Organised Crime Department (UBPOK) have cut off an international drug smuggling channel.
This channel is on the north branch of the so-called “Balkan drug route”, that has been used for smuggling substantial quantities of narcotics to Belgrade and western European countries.
In this action, 24 kilograms of heroin were confiscated and one person arrested on grounds of suspicion of illegal manufacturing, possessing and selling narcotics, reads the ministry’s statement.
