Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic spoke today with Resident Representative of the UNDP in Serbia Francine Ann Pickup about cooperation in the field of energy sector, especially concerning energy efficiency, digitalisation and further improvement of gender equality.

Mihajlovic assessed that there are many important areas in which two institutions can continue successful cooperation, and stated that the relevant ministry prepared four new laws, which are the basis for everything we want to improve in the energy and mining sector, and the goal is green Serbia.
We will set up a directorate for energy efficiency, we will continue to develop renewable energy sources, but we also want to make the fight against energy poverty more efficient.
The support of the UNDP is important in further work in the field of gender equality too, but also digitalisation, she stated.
Pickup confirmed that the UNDP is ready to support the Ministry of Mining and Energy in the efficient implementation of new laws and regulations which are important for further development of the energy sector.
