Belgrade, Oct 5, 2005- Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today in a meeting with President of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) and former Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Yorgo Papandreou that European integration and joining the EU are of essential importance for Serbia-Montenegro.

Kostunica said that the decision of the EU Council of Ministers represents recognition of the reforms that have been implemented, as well as an incentive for the realisation of the most important goal, full EU membership.
Papandreou welcomed the EU Council of Ministers’ decision to begin talks on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with Serbia-Montenegro, adding that the agreement is of great significance for the European future of this country.
The meeting also included a look at the situation in Kosovo-Metohija and the entire region, as well as the further development of bilateral relations between Serbia-Montenegro and Greece.
