Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic met today with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Serbia Mohamed Amine Belhaj.
On that occasion, it was pointed out that traditionally friendly relations between the two countries are at the historical maximum, but also that they are successfully developed and further strengthened, through strengthening cooperation in areas of common interest, with mutual respect and esteem.
The head of Serbian diplomacy said that there is room for their strengthening and improvement, primarily in the fields of economy, agriculture and special-purpose industry, especially bearing in mind the potentials of the Serbian and Moroccan economy, and both sides are interested in further development of political dialogue and exchange of visits at the highest and highest level.
Selakovic expressed readiness to respond to the invitation of Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita to visit Morocco this year.
He pointed out that Serbia is interested in further development of all forms of mutually beneficial cooperation and that it is ready to provide its maximum contribution in that area, especially when it comes to cooperation in the field of energy, culture, sports and education.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated with satisfaction that the cooperation between the two countries at the multilateral level is very good and that there is a desire to develop them further while respecting mutual interests, emphasising that Serbia will continue to cooperate with Morocco in international institutions and organisations.
He added that Serbia strives to act as a factor of peace and stability in the Balkans and does everything in its power to resolve problems and open issues through dialogue, in a peaceful and compromised manner.
The head of Serbian diplomacy thanked the Ambassador for his country’s principled support in preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.
Selakovic emphasised that Serbia's position on Western Sahara is known, principled and unchangeable.
Serbia supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Morocco and the country’s efforts to be an exporter of peace and stability and a promoter of values such as freedom of movement of people, goods and capital.
According to Selakovic, our two countries are not only bound by their adherence to international law, but that is the basis for deepening cooperation in all fields, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
