Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic talked today with Ambassador of Austria to Serbia Nikolaus Luterotti about the cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, especially in the economic sector.
On that occasion, Mihajlovic pointed out that Serbia is preparing a new legislative framework in the field of energy, including a new law in the field of renewable energy sources, and that she is interested in improving cooperation and research, which the Austrian state says will work.
Reforming e-energy and e-governance are especially important, because we wanted to open this sector for new investments, especially from the private sector, she added.
Also, as she reminded, there are already joint projects, especially in the fields of energy efficiency, as well as good cooperation between Serbian and Austrian companies, with mutual interest in further development.
Lutterotti said that Austria currently has approximately 72% of its electricity from renewable sources and that 100% of its electricity comes from renewable sources by 2030.
