The bill approves additional funds for the prevention and mitigation of the consequences caused by the COVID-19 disease caused by the SARS-COV2 virus. The funds are earmarked for additional equipping of COVID hospitals, construction of hospitals in Belgrade and Krusevac, as well as for the procurement of medicines and medical supplies.
Transfers to the Republic Health Insurance Fund for the procurement of necessary equipment and medicines are increased in order to prevent the spread of the disease and provide better health care for all citizens.

The economic growth projection for 2020 has been revised upwards from -1.8 percent to -1.0 percent, which will be one of the best results in Europe, based on developments in the international environment, health measures taken and taking into account the effects of the measures that had been adopted by the government to support the economy and the population. In the absence of these measures, the decline in GDP in 2020 would be greater, amounting to approximately five percent.
The government also adopted a Bill on amendments to the Law on Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases because it is necessary to ensure strict compliance with measures to protect the health and lives of citizens, preserve the health system and the country's economy.
These amendments envisage the introduction of personal protection measures and increased responsibility of citizens, whose implementation will be supervised by the sanitary and communal inspections and the community police for both natural and legal persons.
