Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and Chinese Deputy Commerce Minister Zhang Zhigang agreed today that the relations between the two countries are traditionally friendly and very good and that there are capacities to expand economic cooperation.
Kostunica said that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries must be respected in order to preserve peace and stability in the world.
Speaking about Kosovo-Metohija, Zhigang stressed that China stands for the respect of Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council and that it supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state union of Serbia-Montenegro.
In the spirit of good and friendly relations, it is necessary to find a solution for settling Serbia’s debt to China, which will fully contribute to the improvement of relations of these two countries, it was said at the meeting.
The Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic also took part in the meeting.
Zhigang participated in Belgrade in the Sixth Session of the Mixed Commission for Industrial and Economic Cooperation of China and the state union of Serbia-Montenegro.
