The Serbian government adopted today amendments to the Decree on the distribution of incentives in agriculture and rural development in 2020, which refer to IPARD incentives.
These changes will enable the users of these funds to exercise the right to payment in the field of agriculture and rural development within the prescribed period.
For the current year and next two years, the money will be used for programmes related to improving competitiveness and investment in physical assets of agricultural farms (encouraging the establishment of new perennial production plantations and improving primary agricultural production).
Also, these funds will be used for investments in processing and marketing of agricultural and food products and fishery products (support for the improvement of wine and brandy, control stamps for agri-food products and registration stamps for wine and procurement of equipment in the meat, milk and beer sector) and risk management.
The government adopted an amended Decree on determining the Programme of financial support to agricultural producers through the purchase of market surpluses of beef cattle in difficult economic conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-COV-2 virus.
The agricultural producer of beef cattle will be paid a subsidy in the amount of RSD 20,000 for each head of cattle sold in the period from 5 September to 30 October.
The government also adopted the Development Directions for the Niš Science Park Ltd. for the needs of accelerated technological development of the Republic of Serbia and the Development Programme of the Niš Science Park Ltd. for the period 2020-2025.
Innovation is recognised as a key factor in the competitiveness of the economy and the development of the country, and science parks as an organisational form with a great impact on economic development.
The Programme for the Niš Science Park envisages attracting domestic and foreign innovative technological and development companies and creating conditions for their development through connecting with scientific research and higher education organisations, hiring young educated staff and creating conditions for the return of experts from abroad.
The goals are aimed at providing infrastructural support and professional services to companies and scientific research and innovation organisations in order to connect them and place new products on the market faster.
