The Serbian government adopted today a Programme of use of subsidies to support the work of the hotel industry of Serbia due to business difficulties caused by the epidemic of COVID-19 disease caused by SARS-COV2 virus.
The programme covers privately-owned hotels in 67 municipalities and cities in Serbia which will receive subsidies in the amount of €350 per single bed and €150 per room in dinar counter value.
The hoteliers will lose the right to the subsidy if they cut the number of employees by over 10% in the period from 15 August to 31 December 2020.
The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications will announce a public call for the submission of applications from 1 September to 15 September 2020, which will be published on the official web page of the Ministry.
The Serbian government decided to adopt the programme of subsidies in order to save the hotel industry and its employees, which has suffered tremendous losses during the pandemic and has been brought to the brink of survival.
At the session it was decided to set up a Working group for the preparation and organisation of a prize game which will be held in 2020 with the aim of raising public awareness on the importance of the fight against the gray economy.
The previous prize game ”Take the bill and win”, organised with the same goal, motivated a large number of citizens to take part in it and gave wanted results.
