Serbian government adopts several bills, decrees

The Serbian government adopted at its session today a Bill on the registration of economic entities and a Bill on the agency for economic registers, and forwarded them to the Serbian parliament for immediate adoption.

The government also adopted a Bill on changes and amendments to the Law on excise tax, and a Bill on changes and amendments to the Law on offence proceedings, which will also be submitted to the Serbian parliament for immediate adoption.

A Bill on changes and amendments to the Law on tax procedure and tax administration was adopted, together with a Bill on a special programme for the use of social security benefits from the state budget. Both bills will be submitted to the Serbian parliament for adoption in emergency procedure.

The government also adopted a proposal of a decision on the use of budgetary reserve funds, which will allocate funds to the Serbian Ministry of Interior for the purchase of 20 apartments from the social welfare housing programme.

Also, the government adopted a proposal of a decision on the use of budgetary reserve funds worth 3 million dinars for the repair of the mosque in Nis.

A number of decrees were adopted allocating premiums for sugar-beet, mercantile soy and mercantile sunflower in 2004.

The government today appointed Slavomir Vuletic as Assistant Minister of Economy, Slobodan Sokolovic as Assistant Minister of Energy and Mining and Dragan Penezic as Assistant Minister of International Economic Relations.

Members of the managing board of the Jat Airways public company were also appointed at the session. They were elected from among the company's employees.

The government appointed Radmila Milivojevic as Chairman of the Commission for the Coordination of the European Union Accession Process, and Dragan Jerenic as Chairman of the Working Group for Coordination of Border Protection Organs in Serbia.

At the proposal of the Anti-Corruption Council, the government appointed Jelisaveta Vaselic, Danilo Sukovic and Milic Milovanovic as new members. Goran Mandic was appointed new deputy director of the Directorate for the Property of the Republic of Serbia.

At the proposal of the Serbia-Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government adopted a decision on granting guarantees to the International Hague Tribunal for the temporary release of Vladimir Kovacevic and Jovica Stanisic.
