Gratitude to Mexico for its principled position on Kosovo issue

Belgrade, 20 June 2020

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and Ambassador of Mexico to Serbia Marco Antonio Garcia Blanco signed today the Agreement on Educational, Cultural and Sports Cooperation and the Memorandum of Understanding on Diplomatic-Academic Cooperation between the two countries.

The signing of the documents, which will contribute to further rapprochement and cooperation between the two countries, was preceded by a meeting with the Ambassador of the United States of Mexico, who will soon end his term in Belgrade.

Dacic congratulated on the election of Mexico as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the period 2021-2022, expressing the expectation that the cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, as before, will be very good.

He underlined Mexico's consistency with respect for the fundamental principles of international law, and reiterated his sincere gratitude for supporting Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Blanco expressed gratitude to his interlocutor for the exceptional cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, emphasising, among other things, the stronger political, economic and consular cooperation between the two countries in recent years.
