Experiences of French notaries valuable for development of such institute in Serbia

Serbian Minister of Justice Zoran Stojkovic said today during a meeting with French Ambassador to Belgrade Hugues Pernet and representatives of the French Notary Chamber that the visit of notaries from France is very important because their experiences are valuable for the establishment and development of that type of institute in Serbia.
Stojkovic said that the adoption and implementation of the law on notaries, which is under preparation, will secure legal safety and the protection of the law, and the courts will be freed from approximately 40 percent of existing cases. He said that in that way conditions will be created for the establishment of a rational network of courts in Serbia and the improvement of their efficiency.
President of the French Notary Chamber Jean Paul Décor said that the institute of the notary public is not only important because it provides legal security for investors, but also because it protects citizens' rights. He voiced satisfaction with the fact that French notaries have an opportunity to share their experiences with Serbian lawyers.
The delegation of French notaries is on a three-day visit to Serbia, during which they will visit the Supreme Court of Serbia, the Serbian Bar Chamber and the Belgrade Law School.
