The Permanent Committee, which administers the work of the WHO for Europe, consists of nine members with a three-year mandate, it is said in the statement and added that Minister Milosavljevic's term in office in this committee will last from 2005 to 2008.
After a number of years in which representatives of Serbia didn't take part in the work of managing boards of WHO, the election of Minister Milosavljevic represents a significant recognition, it is said in the statement.
The 55th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe is being held in Bucharest from September 12 to 15.
