Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica
The Serbian government's website brings the full statement:
"The World Bank's report clearly says that our country has proven, with its actions and results achieved, that it is a leader in reforms. As Prime Minister, I know best what all members of this government have done, and how much they have worked to achieve this result. Without extravagance and pompous self-praise, we simply worked day and night to make things better in our country, firmly convinced that our task is to work, and that others will commend all that was done well in the previous period.
“And a lot has been done, and therefore, after the report of the World Bank, I extend credit with great pleasure to all members of the Serbian government and, of course, all other institutions in the state union of Serbia-Montenegro with whom we share the success we have achieved.
“And now after these praises, new working days and tasks are ahead of us, where again without much ado, we will have to work long and hard until new objective reports on the results of our work are released. Step by step we are putting things in order in Serbia and that is a job that we will surely continue to perform successfully," the Serbian Prime Minister said.
