Serbian government adopts several decrees and decisions

Belgrade, 18 August 2005

The Serbian government adopted at its session today a bill on the law on the Republic of Serbia granting counter-guarantees to the state union of Serbia-Montenegro for a loan of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for financing a project of the reconstruction of the Belgrade-Novi Sad highway section.

The government also adopted a bill on agencies for veterinary, phytosanitary and sanitary laboratories.

The government passed a decision on the procedure for hiring a privatisation advisor for state oil company NIS.

The government also adopted a Decree on the general conditions for the emission and selling of state primary market securities.

A Decree on the establishing of a programme for geological research for 2005 was adopted.

The government also adopted a Decree on changes and amendments to the Decree on handling of customs goods, on customs clearance, and the collection of customs debts.

A Decree on changes and amendments to the Decree on the criteria for the formation of the price of medicines, and the Decree on the price of human medicines, were also adopted.

The government passed a decision on the temporary lowering of the price of excises on oil derivatives, by which the excises have been lowered 3 dinars.

The government passed decisions on changes and amendments to the decision on the number of students enrolled in the first year of universities and colleges, whose founder is the Republic of Serbia, for the school year 2005-2006, therefore increasing the number of students in first year studies.

The government also adopted the Information on long-term housing loans, the adopted contract draft on regulating the affairs of housing loans by using the Republic of Serbia’s budget funds, and the programme for long-term housing loans.

The strategy for the development of Serbia’s agricultural sector was also adopted at today’s session.

The government agreed to give a one-off aid to the citizens of Smederevo who have very low living standards.

The government also agreed to allocate 14 million dinars to the Serbia-Montenegro national water polo team for having won a gold medal at the World Championship in Montreal.
