Serbia-Montenegro’s uppermost aim – EU integration

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said that there is a general consensus today that the most pressing task and uppermost aim for Serbia-Montenegro is EU integration.
“It is highly important that talks on an agreement with the EU symbolically begin on October 5”, Kostunica said in a statement yesterday to the Tanjug news agency, adding that as a result, the entire society would be encouraged to strongly endorse the EU integration process of Serbia-Montenegro.
According to him, all the things that do not help to achieve this goal at the moment should be put aside. “It is now time for the state union of Serbia-Montenegro to be joined with Europe and for this important and strategic aim to be decisively carried out”, said the Prime Minister.
He stressed that it is time for politics that will take Serbia-Montenegro into the EU.
“Serbia-Montenegro’s integration is strongly supported by the EU and the country should take advantage of that opportunity”, the Prime Minister concluded.
