Mufti Jusufspahic said that the state has shown understanding for religious communities and he thanked the government for financial assistance in rebuilding the mosques in Belgrade and Nis.
It was also agreed that the government should continue to provide assistance until the damaged mosques are fully rebuilt.
Kostunica and Jusufspahic agreed that the traditionally good relations cannot be disturbed by incidents and they pointed out that the Muslim community in Serbia has had very good cooperation with the Serbian Orthodox Church and other religious communities.
They also stressed that tolerance, understanding, respect, and dialogue play a significant role in the overall process of the democratisation of society.
