The Cabinet of Prime Minister Ana Brnabic announced today that elementary schools and schoolchildren will be the main beneficiaries of the donation on the occasion of the National Giving Day, which will be celebrated on 9 October this year.
All donations raised during this campaign will be used to provide state-of-the-art student teaching facilities in more than 60 schools in 30 municipalities across Serbia.
The primary schools covered by the campaign will be equipped with new smartboards, laptops, projectors and tutorials for the youngest, including "bee bot" robots.
The National Day of Giving is held under the auspices of the Council on Philanthropy, chaired by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, and was established in 2018, on the day of the birth of Mihajlo Pupin, a globally significant scientist, innovator and philanthropist who helped Serbia's development.
Marking the National Day of Giving renews the culture of giving and revives the rich philanthropic tradition of our society. With each new National Day of Giving, public attention is drawn to a particular problem in society and funds are raised for systematic support to a chosen social problem.
