Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica today met with San Marino’s Foreign Secretary Fabio Berardi and discussed the good relations between the two countries. It was also agreed upon to improve the economic cooperation of the two countries, especially in the areas of tourism, agriculture and the textile and machine industry.

It was suggested that to improve economic cooperation, working groups should be formed with the aim of preparing agreements of cooperation in tourism, stimulating investments, protecting investments and avoiding any double taxation.
Kostunica stressed the need for preserving the state union of Serbia-Montenegro and the necessity for sustaining the region’s stability. He also stated that it is necessary to follow the spirit of European integrations and leave behind divisions that would slow down the process of Serbia-Montenegro joining the European Union.
The Prime Minister stated that the solution to the Kosovo-Metohija problem must be the result of dialogue and compromise, and the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state union of Serbia-Montenegro, for which Berardi expressed full understanding.
