National security, defence strategies adopted

The government also adopted two defence strategies, recognising the fact that the Republic of Serbia must monitor changes in the environment and adapt its security policies to them in order to best protect its national interests.
The adoption of the National Security Strategy of the Republic of Serbia, as the highest and most important strategic document in this field, establishes the basic national interests of the state and ensures the safety and security of all its citizens.
Government members also adopted the Defence Strategy of the Republic of Serbia, a document based on the Constitution and the National Security Strategy, which directs the development of normative and organisational solutions of the defence system, the planning, financing and engagement of our country's defence resources.
