Government sets aside funds for June flood relief

The Serbian government adopted today the Decree on the establishment of the State programme of assistance and restoration family housing facilities owned by citizens that were demolished by the floods and hail in June 2019, allocating RSD 60 million for this purpose.

The non-refundable financial assistance will be paid within the shortest deadline to the citizens whose homes were damaged or destroyed, in order to provide them with the basic living conditions as soon as possible.

The government also passed the Decree on the establishment of the State programme for restoration of publicly-owned facilities for public use in the field of education, health and social protection that were damaged or destroyed due to the floods and hail in June 2019.

Given that the users and employees of these facilities are prevented from staying and working there, the government provided RSD 250 million for the clean-up of these facilities.

Government members adopted the Decree on amendments to the Decree on the establishment of the State Rehabilitation Programme on urgent works on the rehabilitation of the flood protection facilities that were damaged in the floods caused by natural disasters in June 2019.

Additional funds in the amount of RSD 60 million have been earmarked for the town of Sremska Mitrovica with neighbourhoods Lacarak, Martinci, Kuzmin, Sacinci and Jarak, where an emergency situation had been declared.
