First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic met yesterday in Washington, on the margins of a ministerial conference devoted to religious freedoms, with US President Donald Trump's National Security Adviser John Bolton.
During the talks, Dacic expressed the interest of the Republic of Serbia to further enhance bilateral relations with the United States and raise them to a higher level, especially bearing in mind the alliance of the two countries in both world wars.
Bolton concurred with Dacic's assessment of the need for further improvement of bilateral relations at all levels and particularly highlighted the resolve of the current US administration to support the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, conducted under the auspices of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The First Deputy Prime Minister used the meeting to express the determination of the Republic of Serbia, as a guarantor of regional security and stability, for the further strengthening of bilateral relations, and in that sense conveyed Serbia's readiness for open cooperation with the United States, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
