Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic, who is on a two-day visit to the Russian Federation, met today with High Representative of the People's Republic of China and the Secretary of the Committee on Political and Legal Issues of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Guo Shengkun.

Good cooperation of Serbia, China against crime, terrorism

Stefanovic and Shengkun, who deals with security issues, assessed that the cooperation of the two countries in the field of security is good, especially in the area of combating drug trafficking, organized crime and terrorism.
The interlocutors also discussed concrete steps in further enhancing this cooperation, starting with joint training of special units and deepening cooperation between the Criminal Police Academy in Belgrade and the Public University of Public Security in Beijing.
They also expressed their satisfaction with the planned establishment of joint police patrols in Belgrade, in relation with which Stefanovic recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries with Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China Zhao Kezhi.
Stefanovic expressed his gratitude to China for its principled stance on not recognising Kosovo's independence and supporting Serbia in its opposition to the admission of the so-called Kosovo to Interpol.
Shengkun pointed out that China remains firm in its attitude of not recognizing the so-called Kosovo and opposing its entry into Interpol.
Stefanovic is on a visit to the Russian Federation, where he will attend the 10th international meeting of senior security officials in Ufa.
