The Serbian government adopted today the Decree on customs benefits, which harmonises the legislation of the Republic of Serbia and the European Union in the area of the customs system.
This Decree determines the type, quantity and value of goods that, in accordance with the provisions of the Customs Law, do not require the payment of import duties, as well as the deadlines and conditions for exercising this right.
The main objective of this regulation is to protect the financial interests of the Republic of Serbia, to prevent illegal trade and to maintain a balance between customs controls and lawful trade.
At the session, the Decree on the conditions and manner of implementing measures for protection of intellectual property rights at the border was adopted.
The Customs Administration and its organisational units will have the key role in the implementation of this regulation and they will implement measures to protect intellectual property rights at the border.
Members of the government adopted decisions on the establishment of the Academy of Technical Education Vocational Studies and the Academy of Vocational Studies “South Serbia”.
In order to reorganise vocational higher education in the Republic of Serbia, the High Technical School of Vocational Studies in Nis, Higher School of Applied Vocational Studies in Vranje and the College of Vocational Studies for the Education of Teachers in Pirot, got integrated into the Academy of Technical Education vocational studies, based in Nis.
The establishment of this academy will contribute to a more efficient and economical realisation of goals of the vocational higher education and its connection with the needs of the labour market.
The Academy of Vocational Studies “South Serbia” with the seat in Leskovac has been established with the same purpose.
The Serbian government gave its consent to the Republic Directorate for Commodity Reserves to carry out a natural exchange of up to 10,000 tons of mercantile corn for beef cattle with primary producers.
The objective of natural exchange is to raise the level of commodity reserves in live cattle and to help primary producers to maintain the existing level of production of beef cattle.
The government awarded the National Sport Award to Damir Mikec for the silver medal at the European Olympic Games - shooting, held in 2009 in Prague.
