Mihajlovic, opening the business forum Republic of Serbia-Russian Federation, pointed out that the government invested more than €300 million in water transport, and the total investments amount to about €500 million, if we include private sector investments.
She said that new ports will be built in Belgrade, Sremska Mitrovica and Bogojevo and announced reconstruction within HPP "Djerdap 1" and HPP "Djerdap 2".
Within the framework of the forum in Belgrade, which is attended by approximately 50 Serbian and Russian companies, Mihajlovic and Deputy Minister of Trade and Trade of the Russian Federation Oleg Ryazancev signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries on cooperation in the field of commercial shipbuilding.
Ryazanev pointed out that the trade between the two countries in the last year amounted to about $2 billion and that there was great potential for developing economic cooperation in the shipping industry.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic said that the greatest benefit from cooperation in the area of river transport and shipbuilding could be tourism, where the goal is to increase the number of Russian tourists to 100,000 by 2020, with the expected 70,000 this year.
