The Serbian government paid a total of 340 million dinars from its budget for a social programme, namely for the first part of severance payments for workers who have accepted to leave certain companies in the military industry.
In the government’s press release it is said that ‘Zastava oruzje’ from Kragujevac received 172.6 million dinars, ‘Sloboda’ from Cacak 157.8 million dinars, and ‘Prva iskra’ from Baric 9.6 million dinars for the purposes of severance payments.
The government is obliged to pay the second part of severance payments by July 15 at the latest to companies in the military industry in which the process of rationalisation and voluntary retirement has already begun.
