First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic spoke today at the first joint Serbian-Jewish formal event marking the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Dacic expressed his deep respect for the members of the Association of Concentration Camp Inmates who, despite their age that they carry with dignity, show perseverance and self-sacrifice in dealing with the dangerous occurrence of the revision of history, but also the revival of neo-Nazi and neo-Ustasha ideologies in the region.
He stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making great efforts and will continue to make them in order to spread the truth about the “Jasenovac” death camp in all institutions and international fora who are in charge of protecting the culture of remembrance of victims of World War II.
Our descendants should always remember the uncountable sacrifices that were borne in order to preserve the civilization values of peace and freedom of mankind. And your victims, in particular, must be remembered forever, as a warning, due to the monstrous crimes that were committed, Dacic declared.
