First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met with Director-General of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) Michael Spindelegger and said that Serbia welcomes the activities of the centre in support of the development migration strategies and implementation of programmes in this area.

Dacic singled out the project "Link up! Serbia", which presents a feasibility study aimed at identifying possible mechanisms for directing our diaspora (primarily from Austria) remittances to investment flows in Serbia, and expressed the expectation that this project will be resumed soon.
The First Deputy Prime Minister stressed that Serbia, as a country that continues to face a large number of refugees and displaced persons from the wars in the former Yugoslavia, welcomed the adoption of the New York Refugee Declaration of 2016 as a step towards a sustainable and lasting solution to this issue .
Spindelegger presented plans for the opening of the ICMPD regional office in Belgrade, for which Dacic expressed great interest and readiness to continue the talks at the expert level.
