The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) presented today the third edition of the Book of Missing Persons in Kosovo, containing names of 3,272 persons who were reported missing to the ICRC directly by the families.
The head of ICRC delegation to Serbia-Montenegro said at the promotion that the book is primarily meant to help families find answers to their questions, but also to remind the world that thousands of people still carry the emotional burden of not knowing what happened to their loved ones.
Head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Nebojsa Covic said that certain progress has been made, but not big enough so that the families of the missing and kidnapped persons could be satisfied.
Covic said that Belgrade authorities and Kosovo Serbs did not get an adequate response from Kosovo authorities to the release of ethnic Albanians from prisons in central Serbia.
The Book of Missing Persons in Kosovo was also presented in Pristina today.
