Belgrade/Baku, 24 Dec 2018 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic spoke today in Baku with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev about improving the overall political and economic relations of the two countries.

Cooperation with Azerbaijan at strategic partnership level

Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the level of political cooperation between Serbia and Azerbaijan, which is at the level of strategic partnership, adding that bilateral relations should also reach this level in the economic sphere in the near future.
He also said that he expects a successful completion of talks on an Azerbaijani loan for the construction of the Ruma-Sabac-Loznica motorway, as another proof of successful cooperation between the two countries in the field of infrastructure.
During the meeting, the interlocutors defined the sectors of agriculture and tourism as areas where there is greatest potential for expanding the volume of mutual exchange.
In Baku Ljajic opened together with Minister of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev an economic forum where representatives of tourist destinations of Palic, Sokobanja and Banja Rusanda presented potential development projects to Azerbaijani investors.
