The Serbian government stated that the World Minds global conference was held yesterday in Zurich, which brings together innovators, scientists, business leaders and artists who represent the ideas of the new era in an inspirational way.
This community gathers more than 1,000 high-ranking individuals, including Nobel laureates, statesmen, university professors, ambassadors and writers who have made a significant contribution to science, art and business.
This community meets once a year in Zurich at a symposium behind the closed door to exchange inspirational ideas that shape our reality and affect the future of mankind.
For the first time this year, the World Minds conference was attended by more than 30 representatives from Serbia. Two Serbian experts had an opportunity to be among the 11 selected speakers - Professor Miroslav Djordjevic, the world's leading reconstructive surgeon and scientist, professor of urology and surgery at the University of Belgrade, founder and Director of the Belgrade Centre for Genital Reconstructive Surgery, and Vladimir Mastilovic, founder and Director of the company 3Lateral, which develops advanced technologies that serve as the basis of future forms of digital media.
Other participants from Serbia were Marija Mitrovic Dankulov, Director of the Innovation Centre of the Institute of Physics of Belgrade University, Mirko Topalski, Director of company Eipix, actor and producer Milos Bikovic, co-founder and Deputy Director of the BioSens Institute Vesna Bengin and many others.
The presence of our innovators, scientists and creative workers at the World Minds conference is a great honour and recognition of Serbia's excellence in art and science.
The excellent results of economic reforms, a clear policy of the government to build Serbia on innovation and technology, with the significant results of the scientific, cultural and academic community, enabled our country to become the first and only state in the world apart from Switzerland in which a World Minds gathering will be held on 23 May 2019 in Belgrade.
This event will take place at the National Theatre, under the auspices of Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
The creation of new knowledge and access to the latest discoveries from around the world is the basis of modern economics, scientific, social and cultural progress and of the strengthening of competitiveness of a country.
That is why the Serbian government has decided to start a partnership with this prestigious Swiss organisation that will help bring the greatest minds of our time to our country and give local experts the opportunity to exchange experiences and present their achievements.
The fact that Serbia has been chosen as the first partner and international destination of this organisation is evidence of Serbia's potential as a regional centre in the field of science, art and knowledge-based economy.
It was a great pleasure for me to be invited to come to Serbia, which will have the opportunity to host the World Minds. This is an excellent opportunity for Serbian scientists and other thinkers to share their knowledge, experience and ideas for a new future to a wider circle of people from the international community, said the founder of World Minds Rolf Dobelli.
In order to promote Belgrade and our country as next year’s host, Serbian wine and traditional specialities were served before the conference in Zurich which the participants had the opportunity to try for the first time.
