Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic met today with Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia-Herzegovina Mirko Sarovic.
During the talks on the situation that arose after the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina introduced discriminatory taxes of 100 percent on goods from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ljajic and Sarovic concluded that the trade of these two countries with Pristina has been made virtually impossible.
They voiced concern about the inefficiency and mild reactions by the international community, which has so far not persuaded Pristina to withdraw these trade barriers.
In this regard, they agreed to send a joint letter to EU member states, given that the Stabilisation and Association Council of the European Union and Kosovo will be held on 17 December, at which the application of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement by the provisional institutions in Pristina will examined.
They estimated that this will be the last chance for the EU to request Pristina to urgently abolish these measures, or otherwise it will be necessary to seek a suspension of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and Kosovo.
