Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic spoke today with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the margins of the session of the Standing Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC).

Economic ties with Turkey getting stronger

Erdogan expressed his satisfaction over the improvement of bilateral relations with Serbia in the last several years, especially due to the fact that the economic ties of the two countries are getting stronger and stronger.
Ljajic voiced expectation that the investments of Turkish businessmen in Serbia will continue, as well as the implementation of infrastructure projects agreed upon during the meeting of the presidents of Serbia and Turkey.
In Istanbul Ljajic also met with Turkish Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan, who said that the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries will be ratified in the Turkish parliament by the end of this year at the latest, after which its full implementation will begin.
Ljajic explained that this will create conditions for the trade exchange between the two countries, which will exceed €1 billion this year, to be much higher in the years to come.
This year Serbia has been invited for the first time to participate in a COMCEC meeting.
