Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic met today with United Nations Food and Agriculture Minister for the United Arab Emirates, Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Mehairi.
At the meeting, they discussed possibilities for increasing the volume of trade between the two countries and cooperation in other economic areas.
Ljajic invited businessmen from the UAE to invest in Serbia, especially in the field of livestock and meat industry, where there is great potential for expansion and further development.
He added that the government of Serbia will pay special attention to the improvement of spa and health tourism in the forthcoming period, adding that there are opportunities for investment from the UAE in that sphere, the Deputy Prime Minister's Cabinet and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications announced.
Al Mehairi emphasised the UAE's great interest in food products from our country, especially for beef and sheep meat, and expressed the hope that the certification process will be completed as soon as possible, so that food imports from Serbia can take place smoothly.
