According to a statement, the bringing of order involves a plan to reduce long-standing debts to suppliers and to limit future orders under military budget projections.
Dinkic and Davinic agreed that the army must urgently hire management and finance experts and fire incompetent and irresponsible people who have created the problems in military finances.
The two ministers also agreed to start addressing problems of military personnel housing urgently and to try to find a way to raise wages in the army within the existing budget.
Dinkic and Davinic agreed to speed up the sale of unused military property and they agreed that foreign donations, primarily that of the Dutch government, will help to improve efficiency in the management and in the sale of the army’s immovable property.
The receipts from the sales will be spent on the modernisation of equipment and on efforts to raise the quality and standards of military professionals, according to the statement.
