In addition to the talks with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and his address to the deputies at a special session, Al Ahmed was received yesterday by President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic.
Dacic said that Egypt is still a country that is waking up great sentiments in Serbia due to a common history, reiterating the full readiness of the Republic of Serbia to harmonising the level of bilateral economic cooperation with Egypt in the forthcoming period with the excellent political relations between Belgrade and Cairo.
Al Ahmed underlined that the friendship of the two countries did not start today, but has a tradition of diplomatic relations for 110 years, and that there are also reciprocal sentiments in Egypt and Serbia.
He thanked Serbia on support to Egypt in June 2013 and, in general, the attitude of support that Cairo has in Belgrade in the fight against terrorism.
The work of the Mixed Committee for Economic Cooperation will enable to define all areas of cooperation for which there is a mutual interest and real potentials.
Al Ahmed informed Dacic about the capacities of the Egyptian economy, especially highlighting those in the areas of civil engineering, telecommunications and river shipping, which is why Egypt is today also very active in the markets of Africa and Southeast Asia.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said he expects the implementation of the visit of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukry to Belgrade in the context of the agreement on the need to intensify the political dialogue of the two countries at the highest and highest level, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
