Belgrade, 22 June 2018 –Minister of Justice Nela Kuburovic today stated that she is satisfied with the opinion of the Venice Commission on the Constitutional Amendments of Serbia, noting the considered text of the draft opinion of this commission to be sent to Serbia was unanimously supported by all members of the Venice Commission.
After the 115th plenary session of the European Commission for Democracy through Law - the Venice Commission, Kuburovic assessed that the Ministry of Justice is pleased with the adopted opinion, which shows that we were on the right track when we sent proposals for amendments.
The Ministry of Justice will certainly accept all the opinions made by the Venice Commission, she said.
Certainly, we hope that in the near future, in accordance with all remarks made today, we will amend the amendments and send them to the procedure for adoption to the National Assembly, she pointed out.
Kuburovic said that a large part of the Venice Commission's remarks just referred to some ambiguities in the translation of the texts.
