Germany Serbia’s partner in European integration, reforms

Minister of Justice Nela Kuburovic spoke today with a delegation of the Committee on the Affairs of the European Union of the German Bundestag about the implementation of the Action plan for Chapter 23 and the upcoming changes to the Serbian Constitution in the field of the judiciary.
Member of the Committee Manuel Sarrazin, who led the delegation, said that the Ministry of Justice has an important role in the entire process of EU accession, especially taking into account the complexity of Chapter 23.
Kuburovic said that Germany is a great partner of Serbia and that it gives significant support to the Ministry of Justice through projects that have helped the implementation of the Action plan for Chapter 23 and the improvement of the rule of law.
Speaking about the changes to the Serbian Constitution, Kuburovic said that the draft has been forwarded to the Venice Commission and that Serbia will respect the opinion of the commission and harmonise the draft with its recommendations.
