As part of the EU’s Community Assistance for Reconstruction, Development and Stabilisation (CARDS) programme, the French government will offer support in the annual planning of the CARDS programme and preparations for decentralised management of EU funds after 2007. The project also includes assistance for Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) and coordination of activities relating to the many twining projects that regulate cooperation between EU member countries and the Serbian administration.
Following the initial phase of Serbia-Montenegro’s EU accession process, which began in April 2005, the next most important element is the gradual increase of EU funds earmarked for the process of integration and the building of the administrative capacities for taking in these funds, reads the statement from the Ministry of International Economic Relations.
