The CISAC delegation was led by the director of this organisation, Gadio Oron, and Director for Eastern Europe and Russia Mitko Chatalbashev.
CISAC is an international confederation of authors and composers, which gathers 239 member states in 121 countries and represents more than four million authors.
The organization advocates the rights of creators in all areas with the aim of encouraging the legislative environment that supports culture and creative industries.
SOKOJ is also one of the members of this international organisation.
The meeting of the European Committee of CISAC is one of the most important events of the organisation.
Representatives of CISAC underlined that its holding in Serbia is a confirmation of the importance that our country shows to understanding and respecting copyright protection and the opportunity to highlight the importance of protecting copyright and other intellectual property rights.
At the meeting, it was pointed out that Serbia has done a lot to respect authors rights by passing a set of laws in this field, which is one of the important conditions for admitting our country to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the European Union.
It was also emphasised that the countries that have their associations in this organisation provide the necessary assistance in order to monitor the development of new technologies and thus prevent new forms of abuse.
Representatives of the team of the Prime Minister emphasised that the Serbian government is ready to further improve this area, in cooperation with the organisation SOKOJ and other associations, through dialogue and cooperation, not only in musical creativity, but also in drama, literary, visual and audio-visual arts.
