Police academy admitted to European Association of Police Colleges

The Serbian Ministry of Interior stated that the Belgrade Police Academy was admitted to the European Association of Police Colleges (AEPC) on May 20.
The AEPC is an organisation gathering European police colleges, it is said in the statement and added that the original founding protocol of the AEPC was signed by the Chairman of the Managing Board of the Belgrade Police Academy Dragoljub Kavran.
The AEPC gathers police colleges of thirty European countries, including all former Yugoslav member states, except for Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The membership in such an organisation can be of great benefit for the development of police education in Serbia which has been under the process of reform in the past several years. The exchange of experience with institutions of the same kind will help Serbia line up with countries having modern European police education systems based on the Bologna Declaration principles, it is said in the Ministry's statement.
