Parliament adopts Serbian energy development strategy until 2015

The Serbian Ministry of Energy and Mining announced today that the Serbian parliament adopted the Energy Development Strategy until 2015, created by the Ministry and appointed members of the Energy Agency Council, thus establishing this regulatory agency.

This document envisages new legal, institutional, structural, organisational, economic and business frameworks, as well as plans for including our energy system into regional and pan-European integrations.
Considering the technological condition of the country’s entire energy system, the Strategy will coordinate the development of the production system with minimal expense for normal energy supply.
The Energy Agency is the most important new institution in the field of energy and it will issue licenses for energy related activities, determine the methodology for calculating expenses, adopt tariff systems and approve prices.
With the adoption of the Serbian Energy Development Strategy until 2015 and the establishing of the Energy Agency, the Ministry of Mining and Energy has completed its legislative activity in reforming the energy sector.
