Harmonisation of professional training in public administration at all levels

The government of the Republic of Serbia adopted at today's session the Bill amending Law on Employees in Autonomous Provinces and Local Self-Government Units that should harmonise the training in units of local self-government with the whole of professional training prescribed by the Law about the National Academy of Public Administration.
This law regulates the professional development of employees in local self-government units, in order to contribute to increasing the level of knowledge and skills of the employees necessary for achieving the basic postulates of modern local self-government and approaching the modern European administration.
The law for the first time regulates the criteria and method of determining the needs for professional development.
The aim of this law is also to ensure better cooperation and coordination of the competent authorities and significant effects in terms of saving the costs of organizing professional development.
