Kuburovic emphasised that during her recent visit to Rome, the Agreement on Cooperation between the Serbian Ministry of Justice and the Italian Financial Police was signed, on the basis of which Serbian prosecutors and police representatives will attend training in the field of financial crime.
She stated that she had an opportunity to talk with colleagues from the High Council of the Judiciary of Italy, who shared their experience regarding the independence and accountability of the judiciary, which will be of importance when drafting amendments to the Serbian Constitution in the field of justice.
Frattini pointed out that signing the agreement, as well as the fact that Italy strongly supports Serbia on its way to the European Union, is a positive signal for Brussels that Serbia is honestly committed to European integration.
He again pointed to the fact that changes to the Constitution must ensure both the independence and the accountability of the judiciary, the Ministry of Justice said in a statement.
