The new legal solutions will set the stage for better education:
The Bill on the foundations of the education system, as an umbrella educational law, rests on the principles of improving the quality of education, greater accountability of key actors in the system, efficiency at all levels, greater autonomy of institutions and economy. The quality principle is achieved primarily through the development of higher quality education programmes.
The Bill on higher education significantly improves the accreditation system through the establishment of a National Accreditation Body, new standards, the introduction of a complaint procedure, as well as procedures for issuing a work permit and student enrollment only after completion of the accreditation.
This proposal establishes a link between higher education and economy through the formation of an Employers' Council at each higher education institution. It also gives teachers, researchers and students the opportunity to establish a spin-off and start-up companies, as well as the possibility of engaging in the teaching of an expert from the economy.
