Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic today met with High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Serbia Hans Friedrich Schodder, who praised human and responsible approach of the government towards migrants and refugees.
Djordjevic expressed gratitude for the overall support provided by the UNHCR to Serbia through various projects, including projects aimed at refugees from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, as well as internally displaced persons from Kosovo, and especially since the beginning of the migrant crisis, in order to improve the conditions in which migrants live in Serbia.
He stressed that the line ministry with the UNHCR Representative Office in Serbia has excellent cooperation and that there is an intention and desire to further improve this cooperation through new ideas and projects.
Schodder announced that the UN High Commissioner for Refugees will continue to support Serbia.
He commended the human and responsible access of the government of Serbia to migrants and refugees, noting that the government has a responsible and reliable partner in the UNHCR.
