The statement recalls that due to the well-know situation in Libya all foreign embassies that are accredited in Tripoli moved their complete financial operations to Tunisia as early as 2011.
Ambassador Potezica has been working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1 November 1978 and has served in Iran, Jordan, Palestine and Libya.
As a connoisseur of the world of Islam, he spent his entire professional career in the Middle East, and as a rule in the most difficult periods in this area.
He was successfully breaking the odium towards Serbia, which was strongly present in these areas during the 1990s, and stereotypes about Serbs and Serbia with his committed work and authentically informal and sincerely humane approach to the local communities.
The commemoration will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the date will be determined in due course, reads a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
