Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis and welcomed Greece’s stance on the importance of the preservation of territorial integrity and the inviolability of borders in the region.
Karamanlis came forward with this position at the 8th summit of heads of state of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP).
The Greek Prime Minister congratulated Kostunica on the positive feasibility study on Serbia-Montenegro’s integration into the EU and he stressed the study’s importance for overall development and progress of the state union on its road to the EU.
Kostunica and Karamanlis discussed the situation in Kosovo-Metohija and they both stressed the importance of establishing dialogue.
Kostunica said that it is essential to find a compromise that would produce neither an absolute winner nor a loser, which he said will lead to a kind of expanded autonomy for Serbia’s southern province.
The two prime ministers welcomed the traditionally good relationship that exists between Serbia-Montenegro and Greece and they expressed commitment to further improve cooperation in all fields.
